Sheridan Myers interacts with hundreds of clients and service providers every day. It’s the people we serve who are key to our success.
As a result, we have sustainability and environmental improvement programs running to help us identify opportunities in the way we operate from our clients throughout our supply chain.
People
We operate in areas where children and vulnerable people are present so all our service providers are fully vetted and DBS checked. We also offer enhanced DBS checks if requested by the client.
All of our staff present themselves in Sheridan Myers uniform and have identification badges for security measures. We undertake regular spot checks and have structured feedback routes to ensure our standards are maintained.
Safeguarding
We take safeguarding extremely seriously due to the areas in which we operate. We take great care to educate our staff about safeguarding – understanding the signs and how to report incidents if and when they occur.
Hollie Guard
We promote the use of the Hollie Guard mobile phone app to all our staff as an extra safeguarding measure when they are carrying out deliveries.

Environmental
We have recently expanded our electric vehicle fleet in London and aim to extend this fleet to other areas in the near future. Great emphasis is placed in the knowledge of the local area and the combination of routes, where possible.
This intrinsic understanding has been built over a number of years, factoring in the individual needs of catering supervisors, the characteristics of the rural and congested roads in the area, coupled with delivery time windows. Furthermore in grouping routes, we are able to minimise the number of vehicles being utilised which directly reduces the CO2 footprint of a contract as well as reducing costs where possible.
With the introduction of our bespoke vehicle tracking system, we are now even more aware of the mileage involved in delivering the food to our clients. To tackle our carbon footprint, we have already planted over 200 new hedgerows and trees on farms across the UK. We are also members of Carbon Footprint Ltd, where we target and actively work towards the reduction and offset of our emissions.
